Immersive Theatre & Sonic Design

Led by award-winning sound designer and engineer Ray Archie, BSL merges technical precision, emotional intelligence, and culturally grounded storytelling to support ambitious creative work from concept through execution.

Story Engine

Before a single sound takes shape, we begin with deep listening, starting with a script reading, followed by a sound design thesis and a collaborative vision session with the director. This phase lays the foundation for everything that follows.

Sonic Impact

Like an architect designing a space, every cue, tone, and moment of silence is purpose-built to serve the story. The result? A powerful, immersive soundscape that elevates every scene.

Featured Project: In the Name of the Mother Tree

For this visionary production, Brooklyn Sound Lab’s immersive approach wrapped the audience in a 360-degree soundscape, transforming the theatre into a living forest of sound. First developed in partnership with the National Black Theatre & The Apollo, the piece has become a cornerstone example of the future of Black storytelling.

From Stage to Stream: Curated Playlists

Behind-the-Scenes Soundtracks

Curated playlists originally crafted to inspire cast, crew, and creative teams are now becoming part of the Brooklyn Sound Lab experience. These collections capture the emotional tone of each production, giving audiences a sonic glimpse into the pulse of each story.
